Course introduction

Recognised Nationally as the ultimate in modern hair education, every one of the Sharon Leavy Academy key cutting and colouring techniques will be passed on to you, the newest generation of qualified hair professionals. This course is designed for those interested in a career in hairdressing.  This course will cover a wide range of skills from shampooing, styling, colouring, cutting, up-styling, extension application etc.  To achieve this diploma, you must complete a number of compulsory and optional units.

What You Will Study:

Consult with clients:

• Be able to advise and consult with clients.

Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp:

• Be able to shampoo and condition the hair and scalp.

Cut ladies hair:

• Be able to cut hair using a variety of cutting techniques.

• Gain knowledge on influencing factors that may affect a hair cut
• Understand the tools and equipment used for cutting.

Style and finish the hair:

• Gain the skills required to style and finish the hair

Set and dress hair:

• Gain the skills required to set and dress hair
• Understand the health and safety policies and procedures involved in setting hair

Colour and lighten hair:

• Gain the skills involved in colouring and lightening hair
