Course Outline

The Body Therapy course covers all aspects in relation to massage, weight loss programs, and body electrical treatments. This course offers a diverse career path such as working in a spa, on cruise liners or in a salon.

Career Progression:

On successful completion of your course, you will be awarded ITEC Certification in Body Therapy, enabling you to work as a body therapist in Ireland and in over thirty countries worldwide. Body Massage:

• History, theory & philosophy of Massage
• Effects & Benefits of Massage
• Therapeutic value & technique of each of the five classical massage movements
• Description and application of massage movements
• Appropriate Aftercare and Homecare advice
• Contraindications to treatments
• Understanding the importance of and how to conduct follow-up treatments
• Knowledge of other Complementary therapies available
• Planning an appropriate treatment program for a client

• G5: Gyratory massage
• Light Therapy: Infrared, Ultraviolet
• Steam bath, Sauna
• Audio Sonic Percussions

Exercises/Figure Correction:
Figure Diagnosis
Recognition and correction of figure faults
Deportment and exercises.

Dietetics:
Dietetics is the base upon which slimming and health rest Nutrition and well-balanced diet.
